Fortunately, it’s not just Simon who’s a fan of the book. Below are a few of the pre-launch reviews from people who’ve seen it already…

There is no presentation this book wouldn’t improve. Whatever your experience of presenting and whoever your audience, this book will make you a better presenter

This book is an invaluable aid to anyone who wants to be sure to get information of any type across to audiences of all sizes. The author has managed to distill detailed, complex scientific evidence into manageable and accessible chapters, with a wealth of further information clearly signposted at the end of each. Every chapter stands alone but there is a useful guide to chapters which might be read together for a more in depth investigation into the many aspects of successful presentation technique covered here. From managing presentation nerves to ensuring audience understanding and retention of information, font and animation advice to content management, the author has brought together every aspect of successful presentations in one place. An invaluable read for anyone interested in refining and improving their presentation technique, no matter how experienced they are.

What a great little book! There is something here for everyone. Experts will find new ideas (and some science) to test and polish their performances; novices will get a flying start with a whole range of presentation skills, which the rest of us had to learn by trial and error. Simon Raybould’s accessible and charming writing style makes you feel as though you are having personal expert tuition. IT is a great read whether you have the time read it from cover to cover or dip into over your coffee breaks.

‘Presentation genius’ is a book that everyone who makes presentations will want to get their hands on. You choose; read the book cover to cover or dip in and out of it at will. How ever you use the book it will make you a more effective presenter.
The beauty of this book, and what makes it stand head and shoulders above the other books on presentation, is that it is based on scientific research. But it’s not dry and dusty; far from it, the style is engaging, witty, amusing and above all informative. There’s a lot to learn here which can make all of our presentations better. The ‘key takeaways’ section at the end of each chapter is particularly useful.
As a trainer of many years who has given countless presentations, I found it both reassuring and fascinating to find that there is theory behind what I do either by instinct or having learnt though experience. I certainly picked up new tips and enjoyed the ride!
I’m sure you’ll agree that’s an impressive line-up for a book. Oh, and buy the way, did I mention it got to number six on the best sellers list? 🙂
